JCB Backhoe by Bacano Investment Ltd at work
If you’ve ever tried to hire an excavator, grader, or even a simple tipper truck in Kenya, you already know one thing:
An Excavator and a Tipper at Work by Bacano Investment Ltd
You could have the budget ready, the project approved, and the timeline set… but if the nearest machine is 300km away, your entire project slows down before it even begins.
And here’s the truth most people don’t talk about:
Kenya does NOT have an evenly distributed equipment market.
Instead, it operates like a hidden network.
- A huge concentration of machines sits around Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, and Kajiado
- A second layer exists in Nakuru, Eldoret, and Mombasa
- And then… vast parts of the country rely on mobilization from these hubs
That means if you’re in places like Turkana, Marsabit, Wajir, or even parts of Narok:
You’re not just hiring equipment
You’re hiring transport, time, and logistics complexity
And that’s where most people lose money.
