Shantui L55-B5 Wheel Loader in Kenya

The Shantui L55-B5 is a five-ton-class wheel loader designed for demanding construction, quarrying, mining and bulk-material handling. It is considerably larger and more powerful than the Shantui L36-B3, making it suitable for contractors who regularly load large volumes of ballast, sand, soil, gravel or quarry material.

According to the supplied L55-B5 brochure, the loader combines a 220hp Weichai engine, 3m³ bucket and 17,100kg operating weight. It is available locally through Prescott Engineering Solutions, which presents itself as an authorised Shantui machinery dealer in Kenya.

Loading and Hydraulic Performance

The L55-B5 produces a 170kN bucket breakout force, helping the operator penetrate compacted soil, aggregate piles and other dense materials. Its full-turn tipping load is stated as 11,000kg, although the actual safe working load will depend on the bucket, material density, operating surface and machine configuration.

The hydraulic system has a 5.5-second lifting time and a total working cycle time of approximately 10.5 seconds. Shorter loading cycles can improve productivity when feeding crushers, stockpiling materials or loading trucks continuously.
